K7 Computing Pvt. Ltd. is a software and hardware security company Founded in 1991 by Jayaraman Kesavardhanan in Chennai, India.

The company has 90+ employees in its Chennai HQ with more employees all around the world. Software research and virus detection is handled by its own virus lab in Chennai.

K7 Computing is a member of AVAR (Association of Anti Virus Asia Researchers)Jayaraman Kesavardhanan, Founder and CEO of K7 Computing was granted the Best Member Award in recognition of his significant contributions to AVAR for the year 2008 Chennai, TN, 16 December 2008 K7 Computing's Cloud Computing division built on windows platform, K7 Cloud Solutions was formed as a result of K7 Computing's acquisition of BinaryKarma, a Chennai, India based start-up working on products in the area of Virtualization Management.

K7 Computing has been developing antivirus software for 20 years.

The most recognized antivirus software from K7 Computing is the K7 Total Security  which won AV-Comparatives Performance Test for 2010, version 11 was released in February 2011 together with K7 Ultimate Security 11 and Antivirus Plus and Antivirus Premium. In 15 June 2011 K7 released Business Edition of its Antivirus security K7 Enterprise Security - Business orientated antivirus product offering remote management and installation.

Desktop Edition products: K7 Antivirus Plus, K7 Total Security - (Internet Security), K7 Ultimate Security (Internet Security plus Backup), K7 Secure Web Aimed specifically at protecting your online transactions, it offers secure browsing hardened against attacks that try to steal your passwords… or your money.

Windows Edition

K7 Total Security, released 2002, was K7 Computing's first security suite for Windows PCs. The service offered basic protection for Internet users such as Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware Tools, Anti-Spam and Basic Firewall.

Version 2003

K7 continued to deliver the same features in their software. Meanwhile, the company partnered with Sourcenext, a Japan-based computer software publishing company to sell K7's security software.

Version 2007

In version 2007, K7 added a few more security tools such as Key-logger & root-kit detection and other privacy tools in their security suite.

Version 2009

Following the release of Version 2008, K7 released 2009 version. This version included Privacy Tools for safe browsing.

Version 2010

K7 launched K7 Total Security 2010 on 18 January 2010 in Chennai, India. New features included Rootkit Scanning, Tracking Cookie detection, Malicious Site and download blocking and many more features.

Version 2011

K7 Total Security launched in February 2011. Version 11 brings modern graphic user interface and new improved features and scanning capabilities. (USB vaccination, rootkit scan, and new privacy protection tools)

Version 2012

Version 2013

K7 Total Security and other K7 desktop security products version 13 were launched in March 2013. K7 Computing takes a different approach at the software version names and as of Q3 of 2012, is not using any prefix for the software version. Builds that reflect new features and improvements are identified as the year they are released and the update version, E.g., 12.2, 13.0 and newest version is 13.1 Version of the software is upgraded on the fly via updates, therefore users have installed always the latest version with updated and new features and technology.
